Grass-Fed & Finished
From the very beginning of our grass-fed and -finished journey, we committed to adding nothing that isn't necessary throughout our animals' lives. They are bred, born, and raised here on our Circle N Ranch. They spend every day roaming their pastures full of a "salad bar" of nutritious plants. We don't use antibiotics or growth hormones and only minimal vaccines early in the calves' lives. They are always treated humanely and with respect for their natural instinctive behaviors.
Six Principles

Observe and know our unique context from differences in soil types, shade, sun, water, and topography to plant and animal health across the entire ranch

Limit soil disturbance, such as no-till drilling of any planted seed and avoiding use of chemicals

Keep soil covered, either with growing plants or plant residue to retain moisture, prevent soil erosion, suppress weed growth (but not all "weeds" are bad!), regulate soil temperature, and provide ample habitat for beneficial insects, birds, and wildlife

Build diversity on the soil (plant life) and underneath (microbial life). No pristine golf course pastures here!

Keep living roots in the soil as much as possible because they provide food for the microbes through root exudates (yes, roots poop!)

Incorporate animals - that's the easy one! Not just cattle, though. A rich diversity of wildlife plays a vital role, too.
