What’s your favorite thing about our beef?

Knowing the animals were treated with respect and that true stewards of the land raised them makes me really appreciate the beef we eat. The taste is also second to none. I cannot enjoy beef any other way.

What obstacle would have prevented you from becoming an NNBeefer?

In the past it was having to buy a whole/half/quarter animal. But once we took the leap it actually made a lot of sense for us. Last Spring we bought a whole cow, split it with 3 other families, and bought a deep freezer. The way we calculated it, we saved enough on just that quarter we kept to pay for the freezer itself.

What did you discover as a result of buying NNBeef?

I have been eating grassfed/finished beef for some time. But I think if you truly love meat, and you have any interest in our earth and the potential of leaving it for our kids, buy a whole animal at some point in your life. So you can see how many of the ribeyes you eat equate to how much of the animal’s other cuts that go unknown. You really appreciate and challenge yourself trying lesser known cuts.

What are a few benefits of being an NNBeef customer?

The Nitschkes are the best and you can just know that any problem will be taken care by the most honest of people. I feel 100% easy knowing this cow was raised, pastured, processed and delivered by this family.

Would you recommend us to others? If so, why?

Yes, it allows you to feed your family the very best beef there is. Realize you are getting beef that is 4x as nutrient dense and you can eat less and save money. Grassfed/finished beef is expensive, this avenue allows it to be very economical.

Anything else you’d like to add?

I have personally gained a lot of from the Nitschkes and especially Lauren. When we used to do business with NNBeef at a company I used to run we hit a very difficult time financially. Not only did Lauren allow us the time and grace to work our way through a stressful situation she guided us with kindness from her end. Her reminders on just being honest and straightforward will never be forgotten. Her motto of “catch more bees with honey than vinegar” will stay with me forever in how I treat people. It is this way of life and way of being that permeates everything they do, and I may sound crazy, but you can taste it in the meat you buy.

What’s your favorite thing about our beef?

The taste! My first order with NN beef was for the addiction sampler and the first time I made plain hamburgers all I could think was how much they tasted like steak! What a great hamburger. What drew me into the idea of grass finished beef was how it has twice the amount of Omega 3 fatty acids than grain/corn fed.

What obstacle would have prevented you from becoming an NNBeefer?

I had to buy a separate freezer before my first major NN order. To convince my spouse, I created a spreadsheet showing the price per pound of the ¼ cow we were buying versus the price I would pay for grass fed at the grocery store. We broke even before getting a half cow. It is an upfront investment but I buy almost no meat at the store anymore.

What did you discover as a result of buying NNBeef?

I like beef cooked medium rare. I was always a well done kind of a gal because I had heard so many bacteria strains can survive processing. Knowing Lauren and Gary means I don’t worry about cow conditions and I finally tried medium steak, what a game changer!

What are a few benefits of being an NNBeef customer?

1) Price – compare the cost per pound (not hanging weight) to the grocery store and buying directly from the farmer is no contest.
2) You know where the meat comes from – I have no doubt I’m getting high quality meat every time I order.
3) You can ask for help! My first cut order, I didn’t know what to do. Lauren walked me through the process and made sure I got to try a couple steak cuts I had never heard of before.

Would you recommend us to others? If so, why?

Yes and no, I don’t want to miss out on order because I want it all to myself. But I absolutely have recommended Nitschke Natural Beef to others – I’ve had people over for dinner and I always brag about the beef. This year, I’m getting my first whole cow because I’m splitting with two other families.

What’s your favorite thing about our beef?

My favorite thing about NNBeef is that it is consistently delicious & convenient because I buy in large quantities so I always have it ready to feed my family, as well as all the health benefits of eating certified grass-fed beef from the best ranchers in Tx/Ok!

What obstacle would have prevented you from becoming an NNBeefer?

At first it is a little daunting and expensive when you purchase in bulk for beef. If NNBeef didn’t have the option to get just ground or a starter kit, it would have been hard for me initially to jump in before knowing of the quality. You actually don’t realize how much meat your family eats until you begin ordering. Once you go through 60 lbs in 4 months for a family of 5, you begin realizing you can order more at one time and your kids LOVE it!

What did you discover as a result of buying NNBeef?

I discovered that it is easy to split a large amount of beef among friends and make it a community effort – sharing recipes, practicing hospitality, learning how to grill an amazing fillet on our grill and you never, ever skimp on quality because of the health benefits. I furthered my research and discovered that grass-fed beef is rich in omega-3, CLA, Vitamin E, improves blood sugar, more likely to be free of hormones and antibiotics and is a safer beef option for my kids. I have a peace of mind knowing that the beef I am eating was raised humanely by ranchers who care about their cattle and the people they feed.

What are a few benefits of being an NNBeef customer?

The best benefit of being a NNB customer is being able to order in a quantity that makes sense for your family. Having enough beef on hand for 3, 6, 9 or even 12 months is a huge benefit versus always having to go to Whole Foods every time I need a certain cut. Having a combination of cuts (roasts, steak, ground, ribs, flank) is handy and allows you to cook diversely. I have loved learning how to take the remnants of a roast in my crock-pot, throw in some soup bones and distilled water and turn it into the life-giving bone broth that can be used to heal our gut and make delicious soups.

Would you recommend us to others? If so, why?

Yes! Of course! I love the Nitschkes, the way they run their ranch and their honesty. I love knowing my rancher and where our food comes from that is such a big part of our diet.

What’s your favorite thing about our beef?

I love that the cattle are raised like the cattle raised on my grandfather’s farm in the Texas panhandle….free to roam, eating non-pesticide grass and getting fat.

What obstacle would have prevented you from becoming an NNBeefer?

Not being able to find families to buy-in for the beef. But I usually have more people interested than I have cow.

What did you discover as a result of buying NNBeef?

We do not like beef short ribs in the instant pot. 🙂   [NNB notes: Pull out your old school crock pot and try this recipe for Korean Style Short Ribs next time. Game changer!]

What are a few benefits of being an NNBeef customer?

I know that the beef I am feeding my kids is antibiotic free. I know that the animals were treated humanely and the fields they live on are not being polluted with chemicals.

Would you recommend us to others?  If so, why?

Yes, I do all the time. I feel people are always looking for quality, grass-fed, free range beef and Nitschke beef is all of that and more. The customer service that Lauren provides is outstanding and the packaging is perfect.

Anything else you’d like to add?

For anyone who is unsure of the amount of beef that comes in a quarter or half cow, my suggestion would be to find 1-3 other families and “buy-in” together and see how long that share lasts. Then in a few months do it again. We have been getting Nitschke beef with friends for over a year and everyone loves it.
